Hilke MacIntyre Ceramic Relief - 'Wedding Dancing'
This beautifully crafted ceramic relief by printmaker and ceramicist Hilke MacIntyre is full of charm and would make the perfect wedding gift to celebrate the happy couple and their special day.
This relief is signed by the maker and numbered as 16 of a limited edition of 50.
The original design is carved in clay from which a moulding is made out of casting plaster. Slabs of soft clay are then pressed into the moulding to make an almost identical relief before being fired twice and glazed by hand.
Each relief is frost proof and suitable for outside display, and features a recessed hole in the back for hanging on a nail or a screw. It is recommended to secure them with a bit of blue tack as well.
ABOUT THE MAKER: Hilke MacIntyre was born and grew up in Germany near the Danish border. After working as an architect for few years she moved to Scotland and concentrated on her printmaking, painting and ceramic art. Hilke works in her signature simplified figurative style and enjoys using bold shapes, strong colours and patterns. The world around her, especially nature, animals and people provide plenty of inspiration for her work.
