Studio Critical Wood Bud Vases
These sublime hand-turned wooden bud vases are just begging to be picked up, with their contrasting smooth satin-like surfaces and textured natural wood grain.
Each piece is turned on the lathe by Manchester based craftsperson Nick Vorstermans, from sustainably sourced woods, often timber salvaged from the scrap pile.
These bud vases are not suitable for holding water, but look wonderful with dried arrangements of flowers or grasses.
The base of each vessel is signed.
A word from Nick:
“Craft is not just the art of making beautiful, carefully made objects, craft is a form of protest. A protest against the mass produced, mass consumed products that are clogging our landfills and whose processes are ruining our environment. By engaging with craft we are attempting to show people that it is possible to make usable, beautiful objects from truly renewable and sustainable resources. Craft demands that the maker respects their material and process in a human centered way .”
