Fun and contemporary, these drop earrings and bangle are made from clear and coloured acrylic, and make for the perfect statement piece without breaking the bank.
Using laser cutting, scoring, dying and polishing in bold designs with simple dynamic shapes, Sarah's jewellery has a retro yet contemporary aesthetic. Acrylic is also a perfect material for jewellery as it is light and comfortable to wear.
The Red Edge Bangle is clear acrylic with a flash of colour around the edge. Looking at the bangle from a direct angle, the piece subtly blends into the wearer's wrist, but when turned slightly the vibrant red catches your eye.
The Red Spot Colour Earrings are inspired by the colours, shapes and patterns of the Mid Century Modern designers. A clear acrylic shape with black weave pattern hangs from a brightly coloured circle stud top, with sterling silver earring posts and backs.
Sarah uses acrylic sheet that is made from up to 25% recycled material, and all off-cuts and silver waste produced in the making process is recycled or re used. To keep your jewellery looking its best, avoid bringing into contact with body lotion, hairspray and perfume etc. As with most dyes, prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading, but the pieces will retain their colour with normal wear. We recommend storing pieces in their boxes away from sunlight. Acrylic pieces can be cleaned with a damp soft cloth and a little detergent.
ABOUT THE MAKER:
Sarah Packington creates contemporary acrylic jewellery at Rose Hill Workshop in Brighton. While studying Wood, Metal, Ceramics and Plastics BA (hons) at Brighton Polytechnic from 1988-1991, she discovered the endless possibilities of cutting, texturing and dying plastics. All Sarah's designs are highly finished to give a precious feel, and her jewellery can be found in outlets throughout the UK, including the Craft Centre & Design Gallery, Leeds.
